Drilling and Blasting Engineer

African Natural Resources and Mines Limited (ANRML), established by African Industries Group, operates a fully integrated iron ore mining and processing plant in Gujeni village, Kagarko LGA, Kaduna state—the first of its kind in Nigeria. We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Drilling and Blasting Engineer

Job Summary

Responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising drilling and blasting operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective mining activities while achieving production targets.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and supervise drilling and blasting activities in line with approved mine plans. Monitor drilling accuracy, blast performance, fragmentation, and productivity. Coordinate blasting schedules with mining operations and the site mixing and emulsion division. Ensure compliance with explosives safety procedures, mining regulations, and environmental standards. Monitor drilling and blasting costs and recommend operational improvements. Prepare daily and monthly operational reports and maintain accurate records. Conduct field inspections and ensure all blasting activities follow approved safety procedures.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline. 3–5 years of relevant experience in drilling and blasting, preferably in open-pit mining. Knowledge of blast planning, mine surveying, fragmentation analysis, and mining operations. Strong technical, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
