Kimberly Ryan Limited - Our client, a leading agricultural social enterprise serving over 100,000 smallholder farmers in Nigeria, is recruiting suitable candidates to fill the position below:
Job Title: Trees Commercialization Associate
Location: Nasarawa
Employment Type: Full-time (Permanent) About The Role Our client is seeking an exceptional commercial strategist with 3–5+ years of experience in agribusiness modelling and financial analysis to drive dual-sided revenue for smallholder farmers and the organisation by scaling paid tree offerings across all locations. The organisation is moving from distributing trees for soil health and erosion control to supporting farmers to plant cash-crop trees (such as cashew and avocado) alongside their food crops, so that farmers can earn additional income from the same field. This role is a commercial position within the agricultural space, not a general FMCG sales or route-to-market role. The successful candidate will build the revenue strategy, pricing and unit economics for paid tree offerings, and will identify where in Nigeria farmers can sell their tree produce, working closely with Market Access and commercial teams. We are looking for someone with a background in agricultural or commodity trading (for example, a company trading or processing fruits such as mango, cashew and coconut) who also has strong financial modelling and business strategy capability.
Revenue Strategy Design, iterate and own the long-term Trees Revenue Strategy, establishing viable monetisation pathways for tree-based products and services. Develop frameworks to define paid programme offerings, pricing structures, delivery mechanisms and unit economics across diverse farmer segments. Build robust financial models to evaluate business viability, margin profiles and return on investment for both the organisation and participating smallholder farmers. Explore and pilot alternative revenue streams, such as carbon finance integration, high value timber and non-timber product monetisation, and fruit aggregation. Farmer Integration: Design and execute a cross-selling and conversion strategy targeting a minimum 30% adoption rate of secondary products (credit, cash products, extension and market aggregation) among Trees programme farmers. Collaborate with Field Operations (FOPs), Product Innovations and Market Access units on viable pathways to bundle tree offerings with core agricultural inputs and financial products. Map farmer journeys and conversion funnels to identify touchpoints, drop-off risks and incentive structures that drive cross-unit product adoption. Market Aggregation & Value Chain Linking: Partner with Market Access and commercial teams to design sustainable off-take, aggregation and market linkages for tree fruits and timber. Analyse regional value chains to identify market demand, quality specifications and pricing dynamics that maximise farmer margins. Test scalable delivery and aggregation models that reduce transaction costs for rural logistics and buyer connection. Pilot Execution & Strategic Frameworks: Lead high-priority commercial pilots from concept to validation, defining KPIs, testing hypotheses and measuring revenue outcomes in field settings. Translate pilot learnings into scalable standard operating frameworks, playbooks and strategic recommendations for programme leadership. Conduct willingness-to-pay assessments, pricing sensitivity studies and market research to inform product positioning. Stakeholder Alignment & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Present strategic business cases, conversion data and revenue projections to executive leadership and department leads to secure cross-functional buy-in. People Management: Could manage up to 4 to 8 people. What Success In This Role Looks Like The successful Trees Commercialization Associate will be expected to turn the tree programme into a commercially viable offering for both farmers and the organisation. Success will include: A clear, owned long-term Trees Revenue Strategy with viable monetisation pathways for tree-based products and services. Robust unit economic and financial models showing viability, margins and return on investment for the organisation and for farmers. A minimum 30% adoption rate of secondary products among Trees programme farmers. ● Sustainable off-take, aggregation and market linkages for tree fruits and timber, with improved farmer margins. Commercial pilots taken from concept to validation, with learnings converted into scalable frameworks and playbooks. Strong cross-functional buy-in from leadership and from the Field Operations, Product Innovations and Market Access units. What We Need (Non-Negotiable Requirements) The candidate MUST meet all of the following: Must be a citizen or permanent resident of Nigeria. Must be willing to be based onsite in Nasarawa State and to travel frequently. 5–6 years’ relevant professional work experience, including leading teams or entrepreneurial experience (for example, starting a new programme or department, or launching new projects). 3–5+ years’ experience in agri-business modelling and financial analysis. Commercial experience within the agricultural space, such as agricultural or commodity trading, rather than general FMCG sales or route-to-market management. Experience managing projects that involve scaling up. Experience implementing strategies based on field data and programmatic evidence. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Agricultural Economics, Finance, Development Economics, Economics, Strategic Management, or a related commercial field. Technical
